Maddy Busse

Assistant Vice President


Maddy Busse earned a bachelor’s degree in political science with a concentration in government and politics from Virginia Commonwealth University. During her time at the university, she entered the political realm as a canvasser and phone banker for local and congressional campaigns.

Maddy later joined a member of the House of Delegates’ team, serving in various campaign and legislative roles with increasing responsibility for two years. There, she rose from finance intern to senior legislative fellow, ultimately serving as finance and administrative assistant throughout a 2021 reelection campaign. Maddy graduated from the Sorensen Institute for Political Leadership’s Emerging Leaders Program in 2024 and currently sits on the Virginia Public Access Project’s (VPAP) Partners’ Board.

A native of Northern Virginia, Maddy was born in Petersburg and has lived in Richmond for the past seven years.
